How to use the age calculator
Pick your date of birth in the first box. The second box is set to today's date, so the result shows your age right now. To find your age on a different day, such as the closing date of a job advertisement or an admission form, change the second date. The result updates as you type.
Along with your age in years, months and days, you also get your age in total months, weeks, days, hours and minutes, the weekday you were born on, and how many days are left until your next birthday.
How age is calculated
The calculator counts complete calendar years first, then complete months, then the remaining days. When the day of the month on the second date is smaller than your birth day, it borrows the length of the previous month. This is the same method used on school certificates, CNIC-based forms and government job applications.
Age = (Y2 − Y1) years, (M2 − M1) months, (D2 − D1) days
with a month borrowed when days are negative, and a year borrowed when months are negative
Example
Someone born on 14 August 2000 is 26 years, 1 month and 15 days old on 29 September 2026. That is 9,542 days in total.
Where you need your exact age
- Government jobs: most advertisements set a minimum and maximum age on the closing date. Use the government job age calculator to check eligibility with age relaxation.
- Admissions: schools and universities often ask for age on a fixed date, such as 31 March or 31 December.
- CNIC and passport: a CNIC is issued at 18, and a juvenile card (B-Form based) is used before that.
- Insurance and pensions: premiums and retirement dates depend on your exact age.
